Salah In Trouble With Egypt FA

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has been writing many positive headlines this season, but he was now seen fighting with native country after feeling “insulted” by the Egypt FA just six weeks ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Egyptian tweeted on Sunday that he felt “insulted” by his home country’s football association and how they dealt with an image rights conflict.

"Unfortunately the way to deal with it is a very big insult ... I was hoping the deal would be classier than this," he said on his personal Twitter account.

The dispute arose because the national team’s main sponsor, Telecom Egypt’s mobile arm WE, is heavily using the popular Liverpool star in their advertising campaign.

He features prominently on the outside of the national team’s official plane, which was sponsored by WE, despite having a personal sponsorship agreement with their rivals Vodafone.

"Complete silence! What's the plan?! We just see more and more billboards and ads coming out which we have never authorised!" tweeted Salah’s agent Abbas Issa on Sunday.

However, the Liverpool star and his agents’ tweets were followed by many supporters rallying behind the African and Egypt’s minister of youth and sports, Khaled Abd Elaziz announced that the situation will be resolved soon, according to DailyMail.

"I affirm that we will all stand beside him to implement all the contracts he signed in England, so that he does not face any problems," the minister said on his Twitter account.

"We were promised a solution and God willing the issue is on its way to being resolved," Salah tweeted late on Sunday, while also thanking his fans for their “unreal” support.
