Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah headlines Egypt's 35-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while a former Premier Soccer League striker missed out.
The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group A alongside World Cup hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, and will prepare for their first appearance at the showpiece since 1990 with a friendly against Kuwait on 26 May, before facing Belgium on 6 June.
Hector Cuper's side is a mix of locally-based players and overseas-based stars, with Salah, Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal), Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich Albion) and Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City) being the standout names.
Meanwhile, former Bidvest Wits striker Amr Gamal missed out on the preliminary squad, but has been placed on the standby list.
