The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the 10 final nominees for the 2019 African Player of the Year award, and only one footballer playing on the continent has made the cut.

On Wednesday, CAF announced the 10 finalists for the African Player of the Year award, trimming the list from 30 nominees.
Two-time reigning champion Mohamed Salah has once again been nominated, and features among the finalists alongside Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane, who is one of the strong contenders for the 2019 crown.
Three players from Algeria's triumphant Africa Cup of Nations squad also made the cut: Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, AC Milan midfielder Ismail Bennacer and winger Youcef Belaili.
Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who lifted the crown in 2015 and has made the final three on four other occasions, is also among the nominees, alongside the Ajax Amsterdam duo of Andre Onana and Hakim Ziyech.
Senegal's Kalidou Koulibaly and Nigeria international Odion Ighalo will also compete for the award – you can see the full list of nominees by scrolling through the gallery above!
