2018 World Cup
Result: Panama 1-2 Tunisia
Date: 28 June 2018
Venue: Mordovia Arena
Tunisia ended their 2018 World Cup campaign on a high after coming from behind to defeat Panama 2-1 at the Mordovia Arena.
Both nations were playing for pride after seeing their knockout hopes evaporate on match day two, having lost both of their opening matches.
The African nation looked threatening in the opening stages, with Naïm Sliti causing a number of problems in the final third.
However, it was Panama who broke the deadlock after 33 minutes as Jose Rodriguez's strike from the distance took a deflection off Yassine Meriah and sailed into the back of the net for an own goal.
The Tunisians did have a chance to pull level shortly before the halftime break, but Wahbi Khazri failed to hit the target from 10-yards out.
It didn't take Tunisia too long to find an equaliser as Ben Youssef brough them level by turning home Khazri's cross.
The African nation completed the turnaround in the 66th minute as Khazri registered a goal to go with his assist with a neat finish form close range.
With nothing to lose, Panama threw numbers forward in search of an equaliser as the half went on as they hoped to end their campaign with at least a point.
However, Tunisia managed to hold out until until the final whistle to claim three points which sees them finish third in the group.
