As one glittering career comes to an end, another is about to begin in the Eto’o family with news that Samuel Eto’o’s son will follow in the Cameroon legend’s footsteps.

The 38-year-old announced his retirement from the game last week after a glittering career that saw him turn out for the likes of FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea, amongst others.
Eto’o also made 118 international appearances for Cameroon during which he scored 56 goals, the most by any player in the nation’s history, and won the Africa Cup of Nations on two occasions.
Supporters of the Indomitable Lions will be delighted to learn that the legendary striker’s son, Etienne, is set to follow in his footsteps and represent the African nation instead of Spain, his country of birth.
According to the BBC, the 17-year old, who captains Spanish side Mallorca’s U-17 team, has elected to represent Cameroon at the upcoming Fifa U-17 World Cup to be held in Brazil later this year.
The British publication reveal further that the Cameroon Football Federation is waiting for clearance from Mallorca following Eto’o junior is expected to join up with his new teammates in a training camp at the Caf Centre of Excellence in Yaounde.
The U-17 World Cup takes place between 26 October and 17 November, where Cameroon will be taking part in the competition for only the second time.
