Report: Another English-Born Star To Switch Int. Allegiance

After it was a reported that an English-born Arsenal star has chosen to represent Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, another Premier League-based player is believed to have done the same.

It was claimed earlier this week that Gunners striker Eddie Nketiah has committed to representing the Black Stars on the international stage ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

The 22-year-old has hit impressive form for Arsenal in recent weeks, having scored four goals in his past four Premier League matches, including a brace against Chelsea.

Nketiah was once considered a hot prospect for the England national team following his goalscoring exploits for the Three Lions' U21 side, for whom he struck 16 times in 17 games.

He has not, however, made a single appearance for England's senior team, and is now expected to turn out for Ghana on the international stage.

According to football.london, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been capped at senior level for England, will also switch his allegiance in order to be able to play for the African country in which his father was born.

The 21-year-old has made three appearances for England but is allowed to change his loyalties due to those games coming when he was still a teenager.

Ghana will compete at the tournament in November in a group alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

Here is how Ghana could line up at the World Cup with the European-born stars available for selection:
