Just a month after being considered ‘too fat’ by a German club, Paul Pogba’s older brother Mathias has finally found a new side.
The 28-year-old, who failed a trial at German third division club KFC Uerdingen in August, has now joined French third tier side Tours.
The Guinea international last made a professional appearance on 23 April 2017 for Sparta Rotterdam, and has since struggled to recover from a long-term injury. However, he now insisted that he is 100% fit.
"I chose Tours, because in the different interviews I had with all the interested clubs, only the leaders of Tours understood me and convinced me to join their project,” he told his new club’s official website.
"Since February, and my injury, I have trained hard to return to the best of my form, and it paid off because the doctors are very confident. The rehabilitation was long and difficult, but I never gave up on returning to the best level.
"My main goals in joining Tours are to get back on the pitch, to have fun, but also to help Tours and my team-mates to reach Ligue 2. I feel physically and mentally 100 per cent."
Mathias Pogba is a striker, who has made five appearances for Guinea since his international debut in 2013, while his twin brother Florentin is still without a club.
