The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has announced the African Team of the Year, and one player from Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly made the 2020 African Dream Team.

The IFFHS recently announced its African Men's Team of the Year, and it includes just one player actually plying his trade in Africa, namely Ali Maaloul.
The left-back won the treble with Mosimane's Al Ahly and was picked alongside 10 African stars who all play in Europe.
Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana was selected in goal, while Achraf Hakimi, Kalidou Koulibaly and Nayef Aguerd joined Maaloul in defence.
The midfield three comprises Idrissa Gueye, Hakim Ziyech and Riyad Mahrez, while Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are joined Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front.
Meanwhile, Banyana Banyana defender Tiisetso Makhubela and winger Thembi Kgatlana made the IFFHS African Women's Team of 2020.
