With Nigeria's Victor Osimhen having been rushed to hospital late on Sunday where he spent the night after a nasty head injury, his diagnosis has since been revealed.
'I Am A Father First, Then A Footballer'
The forward has endured a difficult first campaign with Napoli since his €70 million (R1.2 billion) arrival from Lille at the beginning of the season.
Osimhen's woes continued when he suffered a hard fall during his side's 4-2 Serie A loss to Atalanta on Sunday evening, hitting the back of his head on the ground before losing consciousness.
The 22-year-old was then stretchered off and taken to hospital, reportedly spending the night there undergoing a series of tests, with the club confirming since that he has been diagnosed with head trauma.
"Victor Osimhen, following the injury with head trauma suffered in the final minutes of Atalanta-Napoli, underwent tests with negative results," a statement from the club's official website read.
"The player will remain in Bergamo until tomorrow under the clinical observation of the blue health manager Raffaele Canonico."
Osimhen has played in just 10 league matches in Italy so far this season, scoring twice.
