'Quite A Ride!' – Salah Sends Message To Mane

Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has sent a parting message to Sadio Mane, who has become the highest-paid African footballer in the world with his transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich.

Klopp Breaks Silence On Mane's Liverpool Exit

The Senegalese winger completed his switch to the Bundesliga champions on Wednesday, for a transfer fee that could rise to €41 million (R691 million).

Mane has signed a three-year contract at Bayern said to be worth £250 000 (R4.8 million) a week, a figure that is believed to make the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations winner the best-paid African player in the world.

It was thought that the ex-Southampton attacker decided to leave the Reds as his wage demands in discussions with the club's board could not be met, which many assume relates to Liverpool's hope of tying Salah down to a new deal.

While it is claimed the Premier League side has "hit their ceiling" in what they can offer the Egyptian, whose current contract will expire in 2023, the player has committed to staying at the club for the coming campaign.

He, however, will have to adapt to taking to the field without Mane, whom he shared a special message for on social media on Wednesday.

"It's been quite a ride!" he wrote on Twitter.

"Thank you for all the good times and I wish you all the best in your new adventure! You will be missed by all of us."

Salah and Mane won six trophies together during their five years as teammates, including the UEFA Champions League and Premier League titles.
