After drawing to Ethiopia at Orlando Stadium on Thursday afternoon, Ghana have missed out on a golden chance to put pressure on Hugo Broos' South Africa ahead of their clash against Zimbabwe tonight.
Zim Coach Issues Warning To Bafana
The Black Stars went ahead 22 minutes into their game against Ethiopia, courtesy of a goal from ex-Swansea and West Ham United forward Andre Ayew.
Ethiopia responded well, however, as they had shots at goal in search of an equaliser, and it finally came through Getaneh Kebede in the 72nd minute.
The 1-1 result sees South Africa in a better position to make it out of the second round of qualifying, although Bafana will still want to beat Zimbabwe in Johannesburg on Thursday night.
Broos' side currently sit on 10 points after four matches, while the Black Stars have the same number of points but have played five times.
Beating the Warriors this evening would mean that Bafana require only a point against Ghana this Sunday in their last match of this group stage.
