The world football governing body issued a statement on Thursday and revealed SAFA's protest failed to meet certain requirements and was therefore rejected.

The result means the Black Stars are now officially secured their spot in the World Cup play-off round, with the fixtures yet to be decided.

However, Prosper Harrison Addo did not hold back when criticising SAFA after the verdict was released on Thursday afternoon.

“The South African football Association knows nothing in football and this case clearly shows how incompetent they are," the General Secretary told Light FM, as per Modern Ghana.

"They want to frustrate Ghana and we are focus about the AFCON and the FIFA World Cup play-off."

The draw for the play-offs will take place on Janury 26 and it has been revealed the latest FIFA rankings will be used, as per Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick

“The CAF Executive Committee met and decided that the last FIFA Rankings in November will be used for the World Cup Draws," Pinnick said, as per Daily Post.
