After former FC Barcelona midfielder Alex Song shocked many with his move to AS Arta Solar7, his Djiboutian side were left embarrassed being dumped out of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The 33-year-old joined the African club as a free agent in November after his previous contract with Swiss Super League side FC Sion was terminated shortly after the coronavirus pandemic halted football across the globe.
However, things are not going too great for Song and his new team after they were eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup following a 10-1 thumping on aggregate by Egyptian side Al Mokawloon.
Song scored an own goal in the first leg that ended in a 1-0 defeat for his club, before Arta lost 9-1 in Egypt as his side were knocked out of the tournament at the preliminary stage.
Al Mokawloon will now face Etoile du Sahel in first round of the competition.
South African teams Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic are also still in the tournament.
