An Al Ahly legend says he would prefer if Pitso Mosimane's side drew Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The Red Devils could only secure a second-place finish in Group A, meaning they will face on of three Group winners which includes Sundowns.
The nine-time African champions have enjoyed a good record against Sundowns, although their last outing ended in a 5-0 win to the South African side, who were coached by Mosimane in 2019.
Former Red Devils star Wael Gomaa says it would be better to avoid Wydad Casablanca and Esperance.
"I hope that Al Ahly will avoid crossing the path of Wydad and Esperance de Tunis," he told Hitara Show, as per KingFut.
"Unlike many supporters, I prefer to face Mamelodi Sundowns, a team that coach Pitso Mosimane knows well. Wydad is one of the strongest teams of this edition.
"They recruited good players and I place them as one of the favorites to win the competition this season."
