Al Ahly have announced their squad for Saturday's 2021/22 CAF Champions League opener, but some big names were left off the list.
The Red Devils begin the defence of their Champions League title against Niger outfit Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale in the second round.
This is the second season in a row that Al Ahly will start their Champions League campaign in Niger, following their clash with AS SONIDEP in the previous edition.
There are key names missing from the squad list, including new signings Percy Tau and Luis Miquissone, while Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Mohamed El-Shennawy, Hussien El-Shahat and Salah Mohsen also did not make the cut.
Pitso Mosimane's charges will take on Union Sportive on Saturday afternoon at 17:30, with the return leg scheduled for next weekend.
