Yaya Toure on trial in China

The 36-year-old recently made a U-turn on retirement claims made by his agent, with the latest reports suggesting Toure is having a trial at Qingdao Huanghai in China. The Chinese second tier side has confirmed that Toure has arrived for a trial, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will move to Far East. "He is here for a trial," a spokesman said, as quoted by AFP. "The coaching team will assess his physical condition and ability to decide whether he is suitable for our team."

Arsenal to rival Man Utd for Pepe?

LOSC Lille manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that star striker Nicolas Pepe will leave the club this window. "He will leave. Life's like that; football's like that today," he said, as per Bleacher Report. "He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club. There will be a battle between the great European teams." A host of top European sides have been linked with the Ivory Coast forward, but recent reports indicate that Arsenal and Manchester United are closest to his signature.

Koulibaly on Man Utd shortlist

The Napoli centre-back is understood to be one of the priority signings of United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who wants to bolster his central defence in this window. Reports this week claimed that the Serie A side has rejected the Red Devils' latest offer of €110 million (R1.77 billion) for the centre-back, and are holding out for his release clause, said to be €150 million (R2.4 billion).

Arsenal in pole position for Ziyech?

Ajax Amsterdam director of football Marc Overmars recently confirmed that Moroccan playmaker Hakim Ziyech will leave the Eredivisie champions. Ziyech reportedly has a €25 million (R401 million) release clause in his contract, and Arsenal are believed to in pole position to sign the 26-year-old, according to talkSPORT. In 2017, Ziyech spoke of his admiration for the Gunners and their playmaker Mesut Ozil, which has many believing the Premier League side could be his preferred destination.

Partey open to leaving Atletico?

The Atletico Madrid midfielder has been linked with the likes of United, Arsenal and even Premier League champions Manchester City. He has now seemingly opened the door to a potential Rojiblancos exit, saying he is not 100% sure about his future, even though he is happy in Madrid. "I don't know what the future holds for me but as long as I play and they are happy with me here, then there is no need flirting with others," he told BBC Sport.
