There were a couple debuts on Saturday in England's top flight, but one African star set two records on his Premier League debut.
Mbwana Samatta sealed a move to Aston Villa in the January transfer window from Belgian outfit KRC Genk.
Samatta was handed his league debut from the start on Saturday afternoon, which saw him become the first Tanzanian player to feature in a Premier League encounter.
While Villa did end up on the losing side, the 27-year-old did find the back of the net with a consolation in the second half.
In doing so, Samatta also became the first Tanzanian player to score in the Premier League.
This is not the first time the striker has made history, as he also became the first player from his home nation to score in the UEFA Champions League when he was still with Genk earlier this season.
