Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme ended his footballing career at the age of 32 after battling with acute leukaemia for 12 months.
Ikeme has announced on twitter last month that he was in complete remission from the cancer after a year of therapy.
"I can't risk trying to come back, my health is the main thing in all of this," Ikeme told Wolves' official website.
"It's difficult when you look at all the things you've gone through in your football career, but in the grand scheme of things, with your life in danger, it's a minimum price I have to pay to spend time with my family."
Ikeme was a Nigeria international and has made nine appearances since making his debut in 2015.
