PSL Striker Sends Namibia Group Stage Qualifiers
Namibia 2-0 Eritrea
Namibia advanced to the group stages qualifiers after beating Eritrea 2-0 on Tuesday evening in Windhoek.
After 2-1 first leg win, Absalom Limbondi got the opener for the hosts midway through the first stanza before Highlands Park striker Peter Shalulile sealed a 2-0 victory in stoppage time, to complete a 4-1 aggregate win.
Angola 2-1 Gambia
Angola advanced to the group stage qualifiers after a 2-1 win over Gambia in the second-leg clash on Tuesday evening in Luanda.
The hosts were holding a 1-0 lead from the first-leg, and gave themselves breathing space after breaking the deadlock four minutes before the break courtesy of Geraldo. Although, Assan Cesaay gave Gambia some hope after equalising in the 66th minute before Fabio Abreu sealed victory for Angola two minutes thereafter.
Togo 2-0 Comoros
Togo booked a spot in the group phase of the 2022 Africa World Cup qualifiers after beating Comoros 2-0 on Tuesday evening in Lome.
Following a 1-1 stalemate in the first-leg, the hosts took an early lead in the tenth minute thanks to an own goal by Kassim M’Dahoma while Gilles Sunu made it 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining, to seal a 2-0 victory on the day and 3-1 win on aggregate.
Rwanda 7-0 Seychelles
Rwanda cruised to the second round of the 2022 Africa Cup qualifiers after trouncing Seychelles 7-0 in the second-leg and 10-0 on aggregate in the first round on Tuesday evening in Kigali.
Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge got two goals each, while Abdul Rwatubyaye, Yannick Makunzi and Mahadjir Hakizimana were also on target to complete a 7-0 rout and 10-0 win on aggregate, following a 3-0 victory in the first-leg.
Guinea-Bissau 2-1 São Tomé and Príncipe
Guinea-Bissau shrugged off an early scare to edge Sao Tome and Principe 2-1 for a spot in the group stage qualifiers on Tuesday evening.
Aderito “Iniesta” da Mata gave the island nation some hope of an upset after opening the scoring in the 11th minute but Joseph Mendes netted a brace inside 11 minutes late in the game to seal a 2-1 victory for Guinea-Bissau, who progressed to the second round with a 3-1 aggregate win, after they won the first-leg 1-0.
Sudan 0-0 Chad
Sudan went through to the second round of the 2022 Africa World Cup qualifiers with a 3-1 aggregate win, despite a goalless draw with Chad in the second-leg in the first round on Tuesday evening in Omdurman.
