Downs Star Helps Uganda Remain Unbeaten In Afcon Qualifiers

Zambia 2-1 Botswana

Milutin Sredojević's Zambia claimed their first win in Group H after defeating Botswana 2-1 on Thursday evening.

South African-based duo Augustine Mulenga and Justin Shonga were handed starts for Zambia, who fell behind to Tumisang Orebonye's 45th minute strike.

Enock Mwepu put Zambia back on level terms before Collins Sikombe's 67th minute goal sealed the win for the hosts.

Uganda 1-0 South Sudan

Denis Onyango kept a clean sheet as Uganda claimed a 1-0 win over South Sudan.

Halid Lewaliwa secured the win for the Cranes with his solitary strike in the 86th minute.

Cote d'Ivoire 2-1 Madagascar

Cote d'Ivoire moved level on points Group K leaders Madagascar after securing a 2-1 victory in Abidjan.

Goals from Gervinho and debutant Sebastian Haller sealed three points for the Elephants, while Paulin Voavy's strike proved to be a mere consolation.

Congo 2-0 Eswatini

Prince Vinny Ibara Doniama and Junior Makiesse both netted in the second half to hand Congo a 2-0 win over Eswatini.

The win moved Congo up to second spot in Group I, while Eswatini remain rooted to the bottom with three losses from as many matches.

Cape Verde Island 0-0 Rwanda

Rwanda and Cape Verde remain winless in Group F after playing to a goalless draw on Thursday.

Cameroon 4-1 Mozambique

Cameroon cemented top spot in Group F with a 4-1 thrashing of Mozambique on Thursday evening.

A brace from Vincent Aboubakar followed by goals from Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Clinton N'Jie guided Cameroon to the big win. Meanwhile, Kamo-Kamo Cumbane netted Mozambique's consolation.
