The new season is fast approaching, with fans all around the world looking forward to watching their favourite footballers take to the field as they represent their clubs.
Liverpool supporters will be keeping a close eye on wingers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, whose exploits for the Reds over the last five years have seen them become widely considered as two of the best African footballers to compete in the Premier League.

In terms of wages, it is reported that Senegal’s Mane currently earns £150 000 (R3 million) a week, while Egypt’s Salah is paid more handsomely, with the former Roma attacker earning £200 000 (R4 million) weekly.
City winger Riyad Mahrez is said to be on the same wage package as Salah, while Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey reportedly earns slightly more than them.
To find the second highest-paid African footballer in the world, however, you would need to look in China, where Cedric Bakambu of DR Congo is believed to earn a whopping £307 000 (R6.2 million) a week.
