10 Africans Who Could Still Move After Window Closed

The transfer window shut on Tuesday, but these 10 Africans – including three former Kaizer Chiefs stars and two UEFA Champions League winners – are out of contract and could still move.

Click through the gallery to see which 10 African players could still join new clubs.

Didier Drogba is one of Africa's greatest players ever, but the Chelsea legend, who won one UCL title with the Blues, remains a free agent after his contract with Montreal Impact expired in January.

Michael Essien is another former Champions League winner with Chelsea, but the 34-year-old Ghana legend has been without a club since leaving Greek side Panathinaikos in September 2016.

Players such as Drogba and Essien can still join new clubs, even though the domestic transfer windows are shut.

Former Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana striker Bongani Ndulula, who last played for Chippa United, is another African player who is currently a free agent after leaving the Chilli Boys in January.

Sthembiso Ngcobo (last at Free State Stars) and Punch Masanamela (last at Polokwane City) are two other former Amakhosi players who are free to join any team.

Both also represented South Africa, while Lerato Chabangu must also be mentioned in their midst. The 31-year-old was last with Chippa United, but has been without a club since July 2016.
