South Africa’s players have so far earned themselves R520 000 for their exploits at the tournament in Egypt after Safa president Danny Jordaan confirmed the agreed bonus structure in Cairo last week.

This amount would rise to R670 000, if Stuart Baxter’s men were to beat old rivals Nigeria as well to reach the tournament’s semi-finals.

The Super Eagles, meanwhile, have already securred around R462 000, as per Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, who published the Nigerian bonus structure ahead of the tournament.

Due to Nigeria’s loss to Madagascar, the team have earned R462 000 so far, R142 000 for each of group stage wins plus another R178 000 for qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The would get R212 000 more, if they would beat Bafana, and another R245 000 to reach the final.

The overall bonus per player, if Nigeria would lift the trophy, could rise to a massive R1.2 million, while they would go home with R919 000 in case they finish as runners-up.
