Bucs Striker Shines As Zambia Thrash Namibia

Burundi and Gabon started the weekend’s qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw over Gabon at home on Saturday.
 
It ended in a joyous sphere for Burundi who sealed Afcon qualification after Cedric Amassi splashed out Omar Ngando’s own-goal in the first half.
 
Cameroon 3-0 Comoros
 
Cameroon confirmed their spot in the continental finals following 3-0 hammering of Comoros in Yaounde.
 
Goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Christian Bassogog and Clinton N’Jie sealed the win for the home side.
 
Niger 1-1 Egypt
 
Egypt rested a few key players for the 1-1 draw at home to Niger on Saturday afternoon.
 
Trzeguet handed the visitors an early lead, but Niger hit back through the boot of Amadou Moutari.
 
Zambia 4-1 Namibia
 
Zambia’s disastrous campaign ended with a 4-1 win over Namibia in Lusaka.
 
A double from Augustine Mulenga inspired the host to victory as Donashano Malama and Lazarus Kambole completed the rout, while Peter Shalulile found the consolation for Namibia, who advance to the tournament despite the loss.
 
Guinea-Bissau 2-2 Mozambique
 
Mozambique ended their qualification campaign with a morale boosting 2-2 draw against Guinea-Bissau.
 
Mozambique, who had already qualified for the competition, fell behind in the first half through Piqueti.
 
Guinea hit back with efforts from Nelson and Stanley Ratifo before Nelson propped up late to force a share of the spoils.
 
Ivory Coast 3-0 Rwanda
 
Ivory Coast ended their qualification campaign with a 3-0 victory over Rwana at the Felix Houphounet Stadium.
 
Goals from Nicolas Pepe. Eric Bailly and Maxwell Cornet saw the Elephants top Group E.
 
Ghana 1-0 Kenya
 
Ghana sealed top spot with a narrow 1-0 win over Kenya at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday.
 
The Black Stars have now ascended to the  top of Group F following the victory, which came courtesy of Jeffrey Schlupp earlier on.
 
Senegal 2-0 Madagascar
 
Senegal’s Afcon qualifying campaign ended on a positive note as a double from M’Biaye Niang led the West Africans to the Nations Cup finals in fine style.
 
Madagascar, who will also participate at the continental finals finishes as runners-up in Group A.
