Algeria and Sierra Leone played to a goalless draw on Tuesday afternoon in Group E, though it was far from a typical stalemate as Mohamed Kamara produced an astonishing performance to deny the 2019 champions.
The 22-year-old put in a display of guts and determination as he managed to almost single-handedly earn a point for the West African nation in a game in which they were considered major underdogs.
Kamara was rewarded by being named the Man of the Match, a decision that seemed to overwhelm the East End Lions player, who broke down in tears as he was presented with the award.
The shot-stopper has made 10 appearances for his country since his debut in 2018, keeping five clean sheets.
