Ghana 3-0 Madagascar
Ghana made sure they emerged victors in their opening qualifying Group E match with a 3-0 triumph over Madagascar.
The Black Stars, who qualified for the 2022 World Cup, were without star midfielder Thomas Partey through injury, although there was a start for highly-rated AS Roma attacker Felix Afena-Gyan.
After the first half ended goalless, Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring in the 73rd minute before and Felix Afena-Gyan netted three minutes later.
Osman Bukari wrapped up the win in the 86th minute, with the Black Stars now turning their attention to Monday's clash against Central African Republic.
Angola 2-1 Central African Republic
Angola got their qualifying campaign off to a winning start as they came from behind to beat the Central African Republic 2-1 in Group E.
The visitors got off to the perfect start after Samuel Niend opened the scoring in the 32nd minute.
However, two goals in quick succession from M'bala Nzola and Gelson Dala in the final 20 minutes turned the match on its head.
Central African Republic play Ghana on Sunday, while Angola clash with Madagascar on the same day.
Libya 1-0 Botswana
Libya began their qualifying campaign on a positive note with a 1-0 win over Botswana.
Saleh Al Taher scored the only goal of the match for the home side in the 54th minute to secure their first win in Group J.
Botswana take on Tunisia on Sunday, while Libya do battle with Equatorial Guinea also on Sunday.
