Gabon registered their first win in Group D with a 2-1 victory over at the Stade de Franceville.
The hosts raced into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Denis Bouanga and Aaron Boupendza.
Angola did pull a goal back through Yano in the 85th minute, but Gabon were able to hold out for victory.
