Zelda Breath of the Wild is considered a masterpiece by many critics and is widely seen as one of the best open-world games of all time.
It is no wonder there is a lot of hype around the sequel, but fans will have to wait a little longer as the release date has now been pushed back to 2023.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma said in a video, "For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologise.
"The adventure in the sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game but also in the skies above.
"However, the expanded world goes beyond that, and there will be an even wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and new gameplay elements."
The original Breath of the Wild launched back in 2017 as one of the first tiles on the Nintendo Switch, and has gone on to sell over 25 million copies, according to Gamespot.
