The 20 Highest Paid Footballers In 2017/18

France Football recently released a list of the 20 best paid footballers in the world over the course of the 2017/18 season, with all of the biggest names in the game making the cut! Check out where the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba sit on the list.

The publication claims Messi will have earned €126 million (R1.8 billion) by the end of the current campaign, more than his rival Ronaldo, who will reportedly earn €94 million (R1.4 billion) over the course of this campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar will earn €81.5 million (R1.2 billion) this season, making him third on the list, while in fourth spot is Los Blancos’ Gareth Bale €44 million (R662 million).

Barca’s Gerard Pique follows on €29 million (R436 million) for this season, followed by Real’s Toni Kroos on €28.2 million (R424 million).

The German’s club captain, Sergio Ramos, is next with his reported earnings of €27.5 million (R414 million), while new LA Galaxy star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who left Manchester United this year, will reportedly be paid €26.8 million (R403 million), the same as Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

Catalan club striker Luis Suarez follows the Frenchman with his salary of €26.8 million (R403 million), ahead of Andres Iniesta on €25.5 million (R384 million) and Chinese Super League star Ezequiel Lavezzi on €25.3 million (R381 million).

Next on the list is Chile and Manchester United winger Alexis Sanchez on €23.5 million (R354 million), which is the same earnings Real’s Karim Benzema will have reportedly walked away with by the end of the campaign.

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller is 15th on the standings with his salary of €23 million (R346 million), making him one of just three Bundesliga stars to feature in the gallery.

Edinson Cavani on €22.5 million (R338 million), Oscar on €22.2 million (R334 million), Robert Lewandowski on €22.2 million (R334 million), Pogba on €22 million (R331 million) and Manuel Neuer on €20.8 million (R313 million) complete the list.
