Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel midfielder, John Ugochukwu Ogu has thanked the Nigeria Football Federation after he was recalled to the Nigeria national team for two friendly matches this month.
The 26-year has been out of the national set-up for almost two years, but makes a return to the team after he was called up amongst 27 other players for the proposed friendly matches against Bolivia and South Africa.
The former Academica of Portugal midfielder has also thanked his club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva, his fans and the national team coaches.
“Thank You to the NFF, Coaches, and my Club Hapoel Be’er Sheva for believing in Me and also to my Fans for your prayers. Time to Fight,” he tweeted.
Ogu join the likes of Brown Ideye and Anthony Ujah, who have also both been recalled to the Super Eagles.
Reacting to the news, Ogu also went spiritual by thanking God for his recall to the team.
“Thank You Great GOD for this Great Opportunity to Represent My Country again. Always ready to Fight.#Blessed,” he tweeted also.
The game against the Bolivian national team is now in doubt after it emerged the South Africans may not honour the game scheduled for the Uyo Stadium, due to what they have described as ‘security concerns.”
