Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande, has acknowledge that the club have had a disappointing campaign in 2015/16, but expressed his delight at winning several individual awards at Amakhosi’s end of season awards ceremony.
Chiefs ended the 2015/16 season without any silverware in a disappointing campaign. Katsande was a standout player for the Glamour Boys this season, taking home the Player of the Season award as well as three other honours, in addition to the Player of the Month awards for February, March, April, and May.
The Zimbabwean lamented his club’s results this season, but said that they are now looking to put it behind them and turn things around next season.
"It hasn't been a good season for us as a team and we want to put this behind us and prepare for the new season,” he told the Siya crew.
However, Katsande did express his gratitude to his club for their recognition of his performances on an individual level.
“But I am grateful as a player to win the awards I have won. But everyone at the team is a winner," Katsande said.
Willard Katsande finished the season as Chiefs’ top scorer with seven goals in the Absa Premiership.
