Telkom Knockout
Teams: Swallows vs Tuks
Date: 5 October 2013
Venue: Dobsonville Stadium
Moroka Swallows and the University of Pretoria will hope to have a better run this season in the Telkom Knockout cup, after both being kicked out in the first round last season.
Swallows have had a good cup run over the years winning the MTN8 last year as well as the Nedbank Cup in 2009.
The Birds are currently in third place in the league, and have already picked up a win over AmaTuks 1-0 thanks to a Lerato Chabangu strike in the league earlier this season.
Chabangu a former Tuks player will be determined to get on the score-sheet against his old club, and will prove a handful up against AmaTuks defence.
It was however during their days in the National First Division that AmaTuks did enjoy a great run in the cup, going all the way to the final of the 2009 Nedbank Cup final under their coach Steve Barker, where they lost 1-0, to the Dube Birds.
Tuks go into Saturday's match with a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows to their credit, the Pretoria side currently occupying 10th position in the league standings.
