Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Percy Tau could finally realise his dream of playing football at the highest level, if news reaching the desk of the Siya crew is anything to go by.
Tau has made progress through the youth ranks at the Chloorkop outfit.
The player did well during the 2013 national finals of the U19 Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup while playing for Clapham College, the school that educates youngsters from Sundowns development.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been following the player’s progress. Mosimane wanted the player to train with the first team earlier this year.
But that arrangement was put on hold as the player was still busy with his studies.
According to information received by the Siya crew, the player has been allowed to train with the first team now that the schools are closed.
“I don’t have him with me right now, I last saw him at training in the morning (Monday). I can get you his number at training tomorrow (Tuesday) so that you can speak to him yourself. He has been training with us,” said a source.
The 19-year-old Tau has already represented South Africa at U20 level under Amajita’s former coach Solly Luvhengo.
