Kaizer Chiefs defender, Siyanda Xulu, is expected to face around 10 days on the sidelines as he recovers from an ankle injury, but he could be fit to face Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.
Xulu, 23, hasn’t played for the Amakhosi since the 1-0 defeat to Ajax Cape Town in the MTN8 final last month and is not expected to play in either of the club’s next two games.
According to Siya sources, the former FC Rostov defender has seen an ankle injury from his days in Russia flare up, and will be sidelined for the most part of October, meaning that he will not be able to face Mpumalanga Black Aces in their Absa Premiership and Telkom Knockout encounters.
However, depending on the centre back’s recovery, there is a chance that he will be back available for selection once again for when Chiefs host their bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates, on October 31st.
Xulu, formerly of Mamelodi Sundowns, has never played in a Soweto Derby, and will no doubt be eager to get himself back in time to be involved in the occasion.
