After losing the Telkom Knockout final to Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs star Siphiwe Tshabalala has discussed the importance of their league win over Bidvest Wits.
The Glamour Boys came into their final league game of 2015 on a low after watching their rivals beat them to silverware.
However, their spirits would have been lifted considerably after beating the Clever Boys 2-1 on Saturday at the Cape Town Stadium - which put their PSL title challenge right back on track.
Chiefs captain, Tshabalala, told the Siya crew that the win against Wits was very important for the confidence of the players as well as their supporters.
"That was the last game of the year and we needed to end on a high so that when we come back from the break, we are confident in our first game," he told Soccer Laduma.
"The win was very important and we did very well to fight for that win. Everyone wanted to win and we deserved it," Tshabalala concluded.
Chiefs will have a chance to get revenge against Mamelodi Sundowns in their first league game of 2016, set to take place on 9 January.
