Sifiso Hlanti’s agent, Sizwe Ntshangase, has confirmed to the Siya crew that the player’s new contract with Bidvest Wits has been signed and sealed.
The defender has spent the second-half of the 2015/16 season at Wits on loan from AmaZulu, having made the move from Durban-based side to Sturrock Park in January.
The left-back has fitted perfectly into Gavin Hunt’s team at Wits and has managed to get a Bafana Bafana call up in the short space of time he has been with the club.
As revealed by the Siya crew in February, Wits will be keeping Hlanti with the team beyond this season. Ntshangase has confirmed that the 26-year-old has signed a new one-year deal and has further discussed other contract details.
“Wits have exercised their option on Sifiso Hlanti’s contract and the player is staying with them. Hlanti’s new contract with Wits is set to start in July. It’s a one-year deal with an option to extend for two years. Anyone who wants Hlanti should go and talk to Wits. They should go and talk to the club about buying him. You can tell people out there that you have spoken to Hlanti’s agent, Sizwe Ntshangase, and that I have confirmed that the player has signed a one-year contract with an option for two years, starting on the 1st of July. We are not saying that those that are interested in Hlanti shouldn’t come forward, but all we say is that they should go and talk to Wits,” said Ntshangase.
Hlanti had been previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs. But now that he has signed a permanent deal with Wits, it seems unlikely he will go anywhere else at the end of this season.
