Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero has been released from camp due to disciplinary reasons.
The news comes on the eve of Bafana Bafana's crunch 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Botswana on Saturday, set to take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Ajax Amsterdam man returned to the national team after recovering from injury but is now set to miss out on Bafana's match with the Zebras.
Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has not yet given a reason for the decision, with a tweet on Bafana's official Twitter account stating that he would reveal the reason following the game on Saturday.
The tweet read, "Thulani Serero has been released from Bafana Bafana camp due to disciplinary reasons. Igesund will only comment after match tomorrow."
News reaching the Siya crew is that Serero was feeling some pain related to the groin injury that sidelined him for a long period and asked to be excused from the game, something which Igesund was not happy about. Though this has not yet been confirmed.
The news will come as a slight blow for South Africa, as they face a must-win test against Botswana while hoping that Central African Republic (CAR) can upset Ethiopia.
