Polokwane City skipper, Thapelo Tshilo, who was earlier linked to Moroka Swallows, has penned a new two-year deal at the club, the Siya crew is informed.
Tshilo’s future has been unclear following the expiration of his contract at the end of last June. The crew also learnt that the Dube Birds coach, Zeca Marques was interested in the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender.
However, last season’s PSL rookies have decided to extend his stay by two years and is set to continue captaining the Citizens in the new 2014/15 PSL season.
Although the crew could not get hold of the club’s communications manager, Abel Mohubedu, a source close to the Polokwane-based club said the 29-year-old will turn out in the club’s colours next season.
“Yes, he’s signed a new two-year deal. I’m not sure yet whether the coach, Boebie Solomons, has already elected a captain for the new season but he’s going to be with City next season. I think the Swallows deal didn’t materialise,” said the source.
