Platinum Stars head coach Roger de Sa revealed the struggles his side faced when they came up against Kaizer Chiefs.
Dikwena suffered a 1-0 loss to Amakhosi at the weekend, as their relegation struggles took another knock with just three more fixtures left to play in the Absa Premiership.
Speaking to the media after the game, Head Coach De Sa lamented the fact that his side have been struggling with injuries and it was no better against Chiefs on the weekend.
“We playing away from home, we playing Kaizer Chiefs, which we knew they were going to come at us. I think they played quite an offensive line-up. We played the line-up the best we have, we played the players that are available and the players that are contracted, the ones that are showing sharpness and those are the ones who went for the kill against Polokwane (City) as well,” De Sa said.
“We did have a few issues, Phiri has got flu and one or two others are not 100% fit, so we were reluctant to throw Phiri on but because we were losing we threw Phiri on but that’s basically the best we have and we have got a couple of guys who are injured as well and weren’t able to make the trip but that’s what we got.
“We tried and at the end, we played with 3,4 strikers on the field and we threw everybody that we have,” he added.
