As the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season draws closer, it seems that Platinum Stars are eyeing up a couple of friendly games in order to get themselves prepared.
Dikwena will begin their preseason programme next Wednesday (June 25th) after around a month off, with their head coach, Allan Freese, talking of his excitement at getting back to work.
Now, with Botswana’s Township Rollers spending some time in Rustenburg, it is believed that Stars are eager to organise a friendly game in order to test the current fitness levels of their players.
It could be a largely different Dikwena team that we see in the PSL next season, with Issa Sarr and Lindkuhle Mbatha having already departed to Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively, and a number of other players being released.
Freese will be eager to assess the squad that he has, including newcomers like Patrick Kaunda and Marothi Diale, as he makes a decision as to which targets the club should be setting ahead of their next campaign.
