Dikwena Fraud/Theft Investigation Ongoing
The South African Police Service confirmed that their investigation into Platinum Stars is ongoing, with charges of fraud and theft being looked at.
It was revealed recently that there had been allegations against the club that included money laundering‚ corruption and fraud, although their former chairman, Cliff Ramoroa, has since told the media that he has nothing to hide. Now, following the R22.5m sale of the club to the Johannesburg-based consortium, Rawat Petroleum, the SAPS say that, while they won’t reveal details – the matter is being given ‘all the attention necessary’.
The Siya crew spoke to Tlangelani Rikhotso, the provincial spokesperson for the North West SAPS, who said, “We have received a complaint regarding the financial affairs of the Platinum Stars Soccer team. The matter is being investigated and given all the attention necessary, however, due to how delicate the matter is currently, we cannot divulge any more information pertaining to it as that could compromise the investigation.
“Lastly, the charges that are being looked at for now are fraud and theft.”
It remains to be seen when there will be further updates on the matter.
