Musa Nyatama says he is not certain whether Mamelodi Sundowns will be keeping him for next season, with news that Bloemfontein Celtic are looking to tie him down permanently.
The flamboyant midfielder had a stellar season at Phunya Sele Sele, where he made 26 league starts and scored eight goals in all competitions. However, he has had to report for pre-season at Chloorkop, to whom he is still contracted.
Sundowns had a lot of players out on loan at different PSL and National First Division clubs last season, and it is believed that the club is in the process of keeping some and letting others go. Reports surfaced in the media recently that the 26-year-old could be moving to Platinum Stars, in the deal that has seen Lindokuhle Mbatha join Sundowns, but talk of that still happening has died down.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Nyatama said, “It’s been back to business and everything is still going well. As for the issue of my future, no one has said anything to me yet, so I’ll just have to wait and see. For now I’m with Sundowns, whom I started training with on Monday.”
Going into the Caf Champions League next season, Sundowns need depth in their squad and could be looking to keep Nyatama, meaning that Celtic would have to look elsewhere to fill the gap he leaves behind. Watch this space!
