Mamelodi Sundowns trio of Kennedy Mweene, Hichani Himonde and Mukuka Mulenga have been included in Zambia’s provisional squad for the upcoming international friendly.
According to the Football Association of Zambia, Chipolopolo coach, Patrice Beaumelle, has named a provisional squad of 30 players, including the Sundowns trio in preparation for the friendly game against Japan on June 6.
Mulenga, who spent the entire 2013/14 season without playing at Sundowns because of an injury, is a surprise inclusion to the team.
Beaumelle is expected to name his final squad of 23 before the team’s departure for the game in the United States. The friendly will be used to prepare for the team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Other familiar faces in Zambia’s provisional squad include Isaac Chansa, James Chamanga, Davies Nkausu, Joseph Musonda, Felix Katongo and Christopher Katongo.
