News coming out of the Chippa United camp is that former Ghanaian international, John Paintsil, is training with the club.
The crew is informed that the former Black Stars skipper is training with the Chilli Boys, as he aims to land deal with the club as they prepare for life in the top flight.
Paintsil, 33, came to South Africa last season, and joined National First Division side, Santos.
However, The People’s Team are said to have an option on the player’s contract, but have not yet exercised to renew it.
When contacted for comment, Chippa CEO, Peter Koutroulis, could not confirm the news despite speculation that Paintsil might sign for the PSL returnees.
“I’m not aware of the news yet, but I will let you know as soon as I get the details,” said Koutroulis.
Paintsil could sign with the Chilli Boys as they’re looking at building a stable outfit ahead of the 2014/15 PSL season.
