Rusike Repaying The Faith As SSU Star Shines Brightest

Evans Rusike is turning on the style for SuperSport United this season, repaying the faith shown in him by the club when they snapped him up from Maritzburg United.
The 28-year-old had a tough start to life with Matsatsantsa having gotten just one goal in his 12 games for the club following his move, though he still managed to finish the 2017/18 campaign with eight goals to his name thanks to the seven that he got while playing for the Team of Choice.
Now though, with SuperSport marching up the Absa Premiership table and into the final of the MTN8, Rusike is showing why the club fought so hard to get him, directly contributing to eight goals in nine games so far in 2018/19.
Rusike put in a Man of the Match performance against Black Leopards on Sunday as SuperSport romped home to a 4-0 victory, grabbing two assists and a goal as Kaitano Tembo’s side climbed up to fifth place.
The Zimbabwean international has now got five goals and three assists from nine games across all competitions, and has been directly involved in 57% (eight of 14) of all of his side’s goals in the 2018/19 campaign so far.
Now, as he turns his attentions to landing his first trophy in South Africa, the in-form hitman has his target set on Cape Town City this weekend in the MTN8 final.
