Former Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town coach, Muhsin Ertugal, has recommended Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi skipper, Itumeleng Khune, to German Bundesliga giants, Hannover 96.
Ertugal, who has close ties with Hannover 96’s technical director, Dirk Dufner, has recommended Khune to the German technical director.
Khune has been linked with a move abroad for quite some time having shined for Chiefs and Bafana in the past couple of years, most notably being crowned as the Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season for two consecutive campaigns.
It was reported in February that Itu signed with English-based agency, Triple S Sports and Entertainment group, which is also the agency that represents England and Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney. Although signing with the English agency, Khune will be represented by MSC Sports locally.
The move to join Triple S Sports & Entertainment group could possibly pave a way for the shot-stopper to move overseas in future as he's still very much committed to his current contract at Naturena.
