As reported in issue 1009 of the Soccer Laduma newspaper, there has been no agreement as yet between Kaizer Chiefs and Edward Manqele about them parting ways.
Chiefs have planned to part ways with the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker, as confirmed by the club. However, there could be a stumbling block hindering the club’s plans, as the player is seemingly not keen to leave Naturena at the moment.
A source close to Manqele confirmed that the player has been yet to reach a settlement figure with the club.
“It sounds like he (Manqele) isn’t prepared to take the settlement that has been discussed so far. He is hoping to stay until June at least. His contract ends in 2018,” said the source.
Manqele joined Chiefs on a three-year deal when he arrived at Naturena from Chippa United in 2015. His contract with the club will expire in June 2018.
