Cape Town City FC’s Aubrey Ngoma is confident that they will be ready to face Kaizer Chiefs, when they welcome the Soweto giants to Cape Town Stadium for their first match of the MTN8 campaign.
The team, previously known as Mpumalanga Black Aces, finished fourth last season, a place above Chiefs, and have recently completed their relocation to the Mother City. The Siya crew recently caught up with Ngoma and asked him if the big move to Cape Town has affected the team’s state of mind.
“Yes, I think it is a bit challenging not to get a change of the state of mind. We have to get used to the weather as well, but it’s good that we actually came here in winter, so come spring and summer I think the players would have settled and we’ll be ready to give each team that comes to Cape Town, a run for their money,” Ngoma said.
The confident Ngoma also gave his thoughts on facing Amakhosi on his new home ground, and hopes to enjoy support from the Mother city.
“We are hoping that we will attract a huge crowd but for now I think we have to try and get fit and get used to facilities and also try and understand how the coach wants us to play. But I think by the time we have to kick off the MTN8, each and every one of the players will be ready,” the midfielder concluded.
