Polokwane City coach, Boebie Solomons, believes the signing of former Platinum Stars defender, Benson Mhlongo, will benefit his side ahead of the 2014/15 season.
The Siya crew broke the story in the past few weeks that Mayanga was close to completing the deal to Rise and Shine, and again yesterday when the veteran defender signed on the dotted line.
Speaking from his holiday in Cape Town, Mzala, revealed that he will know about the new signing next Monday from the office, however, he sees the Alexandra-born player as a leader.
“I don’t doubt Benson’s abilities in as far as football is concerned. We will have a leader in him and the club will definitely benefit. The youngsters will learn a lot from him. Last season we saw that we have so many inexperienced players and this season I hope to see the squad balanced. I don’t want to talk too much because I don’t know yet about the signing. I need to get confirmation from the office first,” said Mzala.
Nonetheless, the former Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates man confirmed to the crew that he’ll be a citizen of the Rise and Shine camp for two seasons.
