Elias Pelembe could be on his way out of Mamelodi Sundowns, according to the information in the Siya crew’s possession.
The winger is in a complicated situation at the club, as he has not been included in the CAF Champions League squad for the side.
Following an impressive start to the season, with seven consecutive starts in Sundowns’ opening seven games of the 2014/15 Absa Premiership campaign, Pelembe has moved down the pecking order of wingers in Pitso Mosimane’s team this year.
In fact, the Mozambican international hasn’t played any games for Sundowns this year, which has raised concerns about his future at the club.
Pelembe, 31, will see his current contract with the club coming to an end in June, if there is no change in his current situation at the Chloorkop outfit.
According to sources, the player’s contract situation contributed to the club’s decision for not registering him for the Champions League.
Pelembe was said to have had unofficial talks with Orlando Pirates last year, although a high-ranking official has indicated that there have been no official talks between the player and Bucs.
A source close to the player’s camp has revealed that Pelembe’s situation at Sundowns has not changed. Pelembe has also been linked with a move to Bidvest Wits.
A return to SuperSport United could be one of the options for the player. For more on the talented player and his current situation at Sundowns, get the latest copy of Soccer Laduma.
